TXU Copperas Cove - Ding Dong 138kV Transmission Line Habitat Conservation Plan and Environmental Assessment, Coreyell and Bell Counties, Texas

TXU Electric Delivery proposes to construct and operate a transmission line between the existing TXU Copperas Cove Substation in Coryell County, Texas, and the Brazos Electric Power Cooperative Ding Dong Substation located in Bell County, Texas, a distance of about 16 miles.   The proposed route crosses habitat for the black-capped vireo (Vireo atricapilla) and golden-cheeked warbler (Dendroica chrysoparia), which are two federally listed endangered species. Loomis Partners worked with TXU and the Lopez Garcia Group to perform breeding season surveys and complete  a Habitat Conservation Plan and Endangered Species Act Section 10(a) permit application for submittal to the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.  The final permit was issued in February 2007.
