The City council formally accepted a donation of
$51,000 worth of engineering services from the prestigious firm. The
donation is specifically to provide design survey and construction plans for
a proposed access roadway and parking lot to serve the Blue Hole Regional
Park.
“We are really thrilled just to have a small part in
what we believe is a remarkable effort to save this piece of property,” said
a company spokesperson.
The President of Loomis Austin, Inc., Tom Loomis,
stated that he was impressed by the Village’s effort to preserve the Blue
Hole property for public enjoyment and wanted to be a part of making it come
to reality. The Village is in the process of raising the funds necessary to
finalize the purchase
of the property and then to develop appropriate park
amenities.
